Apesar da invas\u00e3o dos 21 ex\u00e9rcitos estrangeiros [n.t.: refer\u00eancia \u00e0 interven\u00e7\u00e3o da alian\u00e7a das for\u00e7as europeias durante a Guerra Civil Russa em apoio ao Ex\u00e9rcito Branco (czarista), logo ap\u00f3s sua derrota pelo ex\u00e9rcito vermelho], venceram uma batalha desesperada pela sobreviv\u00eancia, ao mesmo tempo em que fizeram enormes progressos em prol da classe trabalhadora, fundando o primeiro servi\u00e7o de sa\u00fade gratuito, legalizando o div\u00f3rcio e o aborto, descriminalizando a homossexualidade e muito mais.
