N\u00e9anmoins, certains soutiennent qu'il ne s'agissait gu\u00e8re plus que d'une lutte de pouvoir entre deux groupes de propri\u00e9taires blancs. Superficiellement, il y a une part de v\u00e9rit\u00e9. Cependant, en tant que mat\u00e9rialistes historiques, notre t\u00e2che est de plonger sous la surface. Nous devons d\u00e9m\u00ealer les contradictions internes, les processus fondamentaux, les transformations \u00e9conomiques et les luttes de classes qui ont finalement motiv\u00e9 et conduit la r\u00e9volution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la d\u00e9finition de Trotsky, c\u2019est l\u2019entr\u00e9e d\u00e9cisive des masses sur la sc\u00e8ne de l\u2019histoire qui a conf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 ce processus son caract\u00e8re r\u00e9volutionnaire. Qu\u2019ils aient eu ou non une vision claire de leurs objectifs, des millions d\u2019Am\u00e9ricains ordinaires ont pris conscience de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 politique et sociale et ont pris leur destin en main pour tenter de transformer la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En bref, ce qui s'est pass\u00e9 dans les colonies nord-am\u00e9ricaines de la Grande-Bretagne \u00e9tait complexe et contradictoire. Tout comme la guerre de S\u00e9cession am\u00e9ricaine fut la Seconde R\u00e9volution du pays, la Premi\u00e8re R\u00e9volution fut sa premi\u00e8re guerre civile. Ce ne fut pas purement une guerre anticoloniale pour la lib\u00e9ration nationale, la d\u00e9mocratie et le r\u00e9publicanisme. Ce ne fut pas non plus simplement une guerre pour la terre et l'expropriation des peuples autochtones et pour l'extension de l'esclavage.
