Certains pr\u00e9tendent n\u00e9anmoins qu'elle n'a \u00e9t\u00e9 gu\u00e8re plus qu'une lutte de pouvoir entre deux groupes de propri\u00e9taires blancs. En apparence, cette affirmation contient une part de v\u00e9rit\u00e9. Cependant, en tant que marxistes, notre t\u00e2che est d'aller au-del\u00e0 des apparences. Nous devons d\u00e9m\u00ealer les contradictions internes, les processus fondamentaux, les transformations \u00e9conomiques et les luttes de classes qui, en derni\u00e8re analyse, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 le fer de lance de cette r\u00e9volution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la d\u00e9finition qu\u2019en donne Trotsky, c'est l'entr\u00e9e d\u00e9cisive des masses sur la sc\u00e8ne de l'histoire qui a conf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 ce processus un caract\u00e8re pleinement r\u00e9volutionnaire. Qu'ils aient \u00e9t\u00e9 ou non clairement conscients de leurs objectifs, des millions d'Am\u00e9ricains se sont \u00e9veill\u00e9s \u00e0 la conscience politique et sociale et ont pris leur destin en main en tentant de transformer la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En somme, ce qui s'est jou\u00e9 dans les colonies britanniques d'Am\u00e9rique du Nord \u00e9tait complexe et contradictoire. Tout comme la guerre de s\u00e9cession a \u00e9t\u00e9 la seconde r\u00e9volution du pays, la premi\u00e8re r\u00e9volution a \u00e9t\u00e9 sa premi\u00e8re guerre civile. Elle n\u2019\u00e9tait pas simplement une guerre anticoloniale de lib\u00e9ration nationale, de d\u00e9mocratie et de r\u00e9publicanisme. Elle n\u2019\u00e9tait pas non plus une simple guerre pour la terre, l'expropriation des peuples autochtones et l'extension de l'esclavage. Elle \u00e9tait tout cela \u00e0 la fois, et bien plus encore.
